Who makes a HD 48" wide synthetic fine bristle push broom

Post by madman4570 »

Ya, I know this sounds nuts.

I want a HD at least 48" wide head rugged push broom.
What I want it for is for pushing 1-2" of snow.

Right now I have a 35" synthetic fine bristle push broom. When I get snow let's say 1.5"
I have found that a push broom works absolutely wonderful for clearing snow.
I do 350 ft on a hard dirt driveway in about 15-20 mins. This includes parking turn around area.

Why in the he## would someone monkey with a snow blower or start up the ATV for that?
There is no lifting, straining, nothing. Just push the broom in one direction, then back the other way and just overlap about 6"

If I can find a HD 48" or he## 60" if they make a rugged one, I am in!

My friend same age as me when he gets 1" of snow on his 100ft nice blacktop driveway he gets out his blower.
Good God man what have we become?

But hey I am not stupid if it gets too deep,ATV time. But so many times its just an inch or two.
The key at least where I live is to get it off and not have the wife run all over it with SUV.then it turns to ice.

Any heads up on the biggest baddest push broom let me know. Even if it cost some bucks!

Thanks gents!

Madman,
You heard it right here, on leverguns, and I am the inventor. :D

You would be surprised at what a leaf blower does to snow. Just blow in the the direction of the wind. Great for clearing off cars too. :D ----6

The biggest that McMaster-Carr carries is 36". Grainger has an 84" warehouse broom but it doesn't look rugged enough for snow plus it's about $250. I had a real smooth concrete drive and for light snows I took a 4' x 4' piece of 1/4" ply wood I had gathering dust and put 2 hand slot holes along one side. It worked real good but that was on smooth concrete.

Madman,
If you're not able to find 48" broom head, why not just dowel pin two 6.5 inch pieces on either side of your 35" broom head ? It's probably easy enough to find a 15" or 17" head that you can use for the project parts.
