Stripping a Henry H0001 stock
What kind of stripper should a guy use to remove the factory finish on a henry stock? My SIL wants a satin finish rather than the shiny factory finish.

Any commercial stripper will do just fine.

If the stock is in good shape, why strip it? Just sand it and apply your new finish.

I use a product called Nitromors for removing varnish, I don't know if it's available in the states but it works for me.

Just dull up the existing finish using 0000 steel wool and orange oil.

If you just want a satin finish Birchwood Casey Stock Sheen and Conditioner will do it. If you really want to strip the finish Citristrip works as well and smells better than most varnish removers.

No nitromoors here. The best I have found is about half as good

I've never come across a Henry H001 Standard with a gloss stock finish.geobru wrote:

If they are handled and shot a lot they seem to end up glossy, at least mine has.I've never come across a Henry H001 Standard with a gloss stock finish.

000 or 0000 steel wool will work just fine. DO protect the metal and DO be careful around the edges.

geobru,
My H001L came with a satin finish, not a glossy one. As retmech said, the satin finish turns glossy, if you handle it enough. Mine has a very shiny wrist, because that's where I grip it, the most. Also, you may find that your SIL's wood is not the color that she & you think that it is, because Henry RAC is said to use a tinted final finish.
