OT - Reloading Component Qty.
How much do y'all keep on hand?
Bullets, Primers, Powder?
I'm trying to hoard as much as I can now as prices are only going to go up and I'm curious to know what the rest of the leverguns brethren are stocking.

At least one full jug of each powder I use of the largest jug available and enough primers to load all I have and enough WW ingot to cover the powder. I'll run fast if the house burns.
Kind regards,
Tycer

I have a comfortable reserve quantity of powder and primers. Bullets not so comfortable right now.
As I buy new bullets to load I buy that quantity of primers and rotate my reserves. I do the same with the powder.

Whoa, This is dangerous. Hope there ain't no Feds here.
Primers--about 25K
Bullets on hand for reloading--About 25K of which 20K are cast
Powder---I ain't sayin'---
Loaded ammo--at least 40K but that includes about 10K in .22's
Brass--(not including loaded ammo) about an extra 12-15K
Lead for casting--3000 lbs
Tin for alloying---200 pounds
gas checks--25K
machine guns-- Two quad fifties, Two Ma Duece's, 4 BAR's, 6 Thompsons (1921 Colts), and 4 M-16A2's
(don't believe that one
----no full auto's, but my buddy Tom has a lot more than that (class three dealer)
I feel naked--for real--I do not like having only 25K primers--I'll pick up an additional 15K this week--because without primers, your nothin'. I worry less about cost as I do future regulation.----Remember what the Boy Scout motto is------------"Be Prepared!!"

This is Boring & Mindless……Wasted Energy
I am looking all the time. If I see a deal on any reloading components I buy them. A while back I was in a small out if the way gun shop and found 1500 primers cheap. He just wanted to get rid of them so I took them and stashed them in the safe. Always looking for a deal and then doing the right thing and buying. You never have to much. Good luck and keep looking.

A State Secret. One can keep a secret, two cannot. All I know is that I don't have as much as my B-I-L, he had to re-inforce the concrete floor of his garage where he has his lead ingot stored!cnjarvis wrote:How much do y'all keep on hand?

2000 or so primers
8-16 pounds of my preferred powders (Win Ball, 3031, 4064, W231, etc)
4-8 pounds of other powders (Trail Boss, Unique, Green Dot, etc)
4-8 pounds of Black Powder
200-400 or so bullets for each diameter I reload (i.e. 170 grain SP for 30 cal for 30 WCF, 30-06, 308, 300 Sav, 30-40 Krag) plus some specialty bullets.
And for the record I keep about 5000 - 10,000 rounds of 22 rimfire, and 200 rounds of each handgun caliber, and 100 rounds of each rifle caliber on hand at all times. And about 200-400 rounds of shotgun ammo.
Most folks would think I am expecting the end of the world but really my motivation is more frugal than that. By always keeping a good supply I am never buying because I have to, I can afford to wait and buy when the price is to my liking.
