I used to work with the guy who took the original photo, which (as in this one) has been ripped off many times over.

That's just like Legos. You could even assemble one of these:

They're terrible... I went from 0 to 4 in less than a year. Ok, so 2 are only receivers... and in the "planning" stages... but I admit, shopping for them is just so much FUN!

BUT... if you have one, and complain about the "SPROING" of the recoil and buffer, there's a cure!!! In fact, the cure is so complete, both my complete rifles have been so equipped... and neither of the receivers will be completed without the same feature!

But, why do they do everything in "kits". One ends up with numerous extraneous parts laying about! Why don't the "kits" include just the basic parts, like pins and springs, and let you choose the parts you're likely to want of a better quality, without having parts of the "kits" that just become so much "trash" when you upgrade things like grips and triggers, mag releases, safety selectors and bolt releases! Bloody daft! :P

SOPMOD: Special Operation Peculiar Modification Kit.

The original accessory list of extra stuff for the M4 carbine, it has been revised once or twice (at least once since that photo). Not everyone gets everything (most never even see 1/3 of it) but the SF guys tend to get 'all' of it and then some, and use all of them.

I had a couple bits off that list (PEQ-2, M203, quadrant and leaf sights, the M68 CCO Aimpoint, though in the original QRP not the LT129 mount shown) during my time in.

The Sweede rules. 6.5 Grendel comes close though.
