Cimmeron 1911
Does anyone know about these?

It appears to my untrained eye to be an accurate 1911, no A1, replica. The price seems astonishingly low.
This is a real shooting gun, and not a non-firing model, right?

Re: Cimmeron 1911
It is made for Cimarron by Rock Island Armory.. I have one, and it is an excellent 1911 in both appearance and in function. I have put close to 2000 rounds through mine without a single malfunction. The frame is a 1911, but for some odd reason, the roll stamp says 1911, A1.msmith1228 wrote:I think it's an RIA.

Re: Cimmeron 1911
My bonestock RIA 1911-A1 is everything a 1911 was meant to be and nothing more. Which means it will be operable and accurate well into Captain Kirk's time.

Here is another one.
I just bought one from a local shop that is closing up.
He gave me a substantial discount from this cheap list price.

Re: Cimmeron 1911
After 17 revolvers between .22 and .44 Magnum I bought my first 1911 which was an RIA. Since it was my first .45 ACP I spent a lot of time shooting, loading, and "customizing" my gun (grips and sights). In the few years and prolly 2.5 thousand rounds (99.5% handloads and 90% of those cast bullets) my RIA hasn't missed a step that wasn't my fault...

Re: Cimmeron 1911
Actually, it is an Armscor made 1911, who also makes them for import by RIA, Taylor's and parts for Remington, STI and others.

Re: Cimmeron 1911
I have one and absolutely love it. Trigger impressed me, nice and crisp, nicer then the Springfield Inc 'mil-spec' I've owned for 20 years. As others said, made by Armscor. 1911 frame, flat MS housing w/lanyard loop, checkered diamond grips. Nice square notch on the rear sight. I think I paid $450 for mine a year ago.

Re: Cimmeron 1911
Also, it looks like adding the "Cimmeron" name to it had added about $200 to the price... but, YMMV...
