Marlin 336D .35 Rem.

Found an excellent condition 336D locally. What are these rifles actually going for now. I have a 336C 30-30 and don't really need the 35 but it is a JM stamped gun so thought I might get it to play with and keep for a little while. Thanks for the info. Dave

Everyone I have seen is between $800-1000. If you can buy it right if you don't like it I am sure you won't have trouble selling it.

I've never owned one but the 35 Rem is a fine cartridge that bumps the 336 up to moose in my opinion. They also seem fairly rare. I've never seen one in Canada.

I had a pair of the 336D guns I bought the first one new a year or so after they came out think I paid about $550 for that one . A few years later one popped up used at the local pawnshop and I got that one for $400 at 97% . I shot jacketed in the first one a killed a deer or two . Shot cast in the used one mainly the RCBS 35-200 and tha Ranch Dog 359-190GC . I sold them both 3 or 4 years ago and got $800 fir the LNIB first one and about $700 for the one I bought used . Of all the Marlin Guide Gun style rifles I thought these balanced or handled the best in my hands . Always thought it woulda been nice if they had also made it in 30-30 and 32 Special .

They are going for a good buck but I'd never part with mine. I got it here a couple years ago from SargeMarlin. Super shooter, 3/4" groups at 100 yds from that short little 18" barrel! That's a keeper.

You might want to shoot it first!

I was having the exact same thought. And then I noticed Dave just said he didn't really need the 35/336D. So maybe he already has a modest flock of 35 Rems of different persuasions.

Just for grins I looked at what was happening over on "Gunbroker". Looks like a fellow could pick up a pretty nice 336, pre-safety, post-safety, whatever your preference, for the $400 range. (Just lookin' at which ones actually had some bids going on).

There was one on the 760 Remington that caught my eye, since I don't have one of those. But I'm gonna' be good -- I already have 6 of the critters (35 Rems) of some variety (no, don't have a 336D but I have an "A" and a "CS" of the Marlin tribe...)

So anybody who hasn't got on the 35 Rem track yet, there are a modest batch out there looking for new owners .
