I hunted black bear in BC this past June and took two bears. Because I am a Winchester 94 collector I wanted to take one bear with
one of my model 94s. I used my 356 Winchester Model 94 to take the first bear. I used the Hornady 35 Cal. .358 200 GR FTX (35105)with
a pretty heavy load of powder. It turned out to be a great bear load, dropped the first bear in it's tracks at 150 yds with the first shot.
Wondered if anyone else out there has used that combination in their Winchester 356 model 94?

While I hunted with a .356 Win BB94 for a few years, I only used factory fodder - which gave excellent performance, BTW.

Congrats on a fine rifle. Like T-man, love me some 356 Winchester! I am sort of a cast bullet snob...use Beartooth 210 gr. FNGC in .359 diameter and the RCBS 200 Grain FNGC. Here is mine, bought new in 1992 and my sons Marlin "Texan" in 44 Mag. Both were superb on close up Hogs down in Texas.

Yup. Took my first black bear in the dark-pine wilds of the northern NYS Adirondacks with my then-new BB 356, using 250-gr Winchester ammo. Factory sights with a bit of orange nail polish. 400-420# estimated live weight per the resident hunter. Stalking, no hunting over garbage in our camp. Shot him at about 70 paces in the mountain mist, after a two hour chase.
Only needed one shot, but had 2 more in the mag. It got dark early in those pines and I fretted about anchoring vs. losing a magnificent wounded bear.
the new 356 Win was as close as I could be energy-wise to the vaunted 348W carried by a couple of old-timers in camp, and I needed to make no apologies. This was '83, no digital pics, but Kodak film & paper captured my gun, grin and a hunt for the ages.
I have a couple like-new 356 BB guns, one in smooth wood and one checkered. NFS as long as I can still see the sights!

I'm positive God created the universe... I'm just not convinced He had any choice in the matter.

Out of 20" barrells, the .356 and 348 factory 200grain loads are ballistic twins . That 200grn .348 load was design to take ALL Alaskan game in 1935 . But, as we are all well aware, the big bears have evolved to include armor plating since then
