I have one like it, but left handed. I bought it new in 1971. Great rifle and very accurate.

Yup! The only thing it could possibly need is my address on the box...Marvin S wrote:Belgium mfg receiver sight no salt wood, it's got it all.
Nothing so needs reforming as other people's habits.

Re: Belgian Browning T Bolt
I believe that in the very early 70's, perhaps before, some genius at Browning decided that they could cure the stock blanks much quicker by using a salt soak instead of traditional air drying. This was fine until the salt began to leach out of the wood and corrode the steel that the rest of the guns were made of. You can usually just see a slight rust line where the wood contacts the metal. If you take stock off however, it's often a rusted out disaster. They discontinue the practice after a few years I believe but you have to be careful with any Browning from that era.soon 2 retire wrote:Ok, I'm stupid, what is "no salt wood"?

Re: Belgian Browning T Bolt
Dad bought me mine about 1967 at the old Bon Marche in Tacoma, Washington. It had the salt-cured stock, which was not a problem until several years late. Wow what an accurate rifle. Although the Army rifle coach from Fort Lewis that we had coaching us through our marksmanship merit badges had access to U.S. Government Remington target .22s and ammo, I used my T-Bolt. At one point, my coach said, let me see that, and climbed into the sling for some prone work. He was totally impressed. That was good enough for me!

I think if you decide not to buy it, you need to send me the seller's contact information. And I'll add that if you pass on it, you'll regret it deeply.
