Repeat: The Snow Damascus Bowie I Won.....

Post by Blaine »

I didn't want to step on the other thread, but, I wanted to brag on this Bowie again.....I think maybe I'd put this up against any knife out there.....Gently laying the edge on your skin, the blade will draw blood. I can't seem to dull it using it in a sane manner.... Wondrous is the magician that can work his magic on cold steel...

I think, perhaps, that this, and the Shiloh Sharps are a couple of examples of the finest craftsmanship in the world....I'm a lucky, lucky fellow....

The pattern is a lot like some of the Mississippi Map turtles I kept, caught and released. It is pleasing to the eye to say the least. Your Sharps is a sight to behold.

Forged knives are usually excellent knives. Looks like you got one of the best.

Very nice Bowie, I LOVE Bowies got a half dozen of them. Damascus steel is pretty amazing stuff, my favorite game knife is my Damascus steel Bear MGC Guthook Skinner (a gift from Dad), stays sharp forever.

that's a beauty of a knife !!

Damascus steel is truly a place for the knifemaker to work some black magic and true artistry in pattern, chemistry, metallurgy, etc.

Here's a knife made by Dan Koster a few years back, the Damascus steel blank was made by Cliff Chisan (from Canada, I think):
