People make that mistake all the time, each of us is going to react differently to any given situation.
Yep....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Realizing and being able to communicate that one concept alone, pretty much credentials you to do marriage counseling...! Post up a flyer and your phone number so I can refer patients to you.

Prayers up for you TTT. I did my fair share of drinking in college (and before ), but developed IBS shortly afterwards and one of the things that set it off was alcohol. For the most part I barely ever had a drink during the last 2.5 decades... execept recently. I hate to admit it, but I have had a few drinks here and there for pain control. Figure it is better than taking the "hard stuff" I've been prescribed.

Having been there and done that, I'm not telling anyone how to feel. I have prolly met/worked with a good 2-3 thousand alkies personally, face to face. Sharing a common defect, we tend to think the same, and to another alkie, we're pretty predictable. (Drank 39 years. Got sober in AA. 5 yrs. later obtained a certification to work with addictions, Certified California Addictions Councilor and worked in a high end treatment center whose clients included USC, LA Lakers, Huges Aircraft, and Packard Bell for a bit over a year. Continued work part tine in "low bottom" halfway houses and treatment centers for next several years. I worked with high muckety-muck top level executives to professional, million dollar pro athletes to college students, and homeless street people). I think I know what I'm talkin' about. Some may think I'm being hard on Blain, telling him what to do, but I'm sure he would rather have suggestions of a good, proven course of action rather than empty platitudes. Nothing is worse for a drunk than a pat on the back and something like "you're a strong man, you can do it". I have experienced a solution that works, and have seen it work thousands of times and I was offering that solution.
Some may think I'm going on a bit too much, but like some of you that have expressed "disdain" at Hollywood's ignorance/misconception/mistakes/fiction about firearms, I too see the common, general public ignorance when dealing with someone that has the same make-up as I do, and I speak up...
Yep, my name is Mike and I'm a drunk.

Blaine, if you want to do something about your drinking, try following Mike's advice. My name is Mike, too, and I too am a drunk, albeit 33 years sober - one day at a time. I am only one drink away from a drunk; there's an AA saying that one drink is too many, and twenty not enough.
Give it some thought; If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, AA offers the way out.

Maybe a person is trying to find some happyness in there life by drinking, i used to do pretty good at it until we got this world full of people that want to blame the victum instaid of the people that are causing the problems.
IMO the problem is to many people get away with running their mouth and blaming everyone else for their screw ups and sinful life styles.
I get plenty sick of the BS and think the old way of turning the cheek is nailing them with a left hook is the right way.
Blaine i`m with ya, if ya want to talk pm me and i`ll give ya my number.
