Cast bullet loading book
Howdy,
Good morning all
I find my reloading library is woefully short on loads for cast bullets. Was wondering if you might share with me which manual you find yourself consulting the most. I have plenty of information on jacketed bullets but would like to get one concentrating on cast loads.
Thanks in advance,
John

I use the current Lyman book, along with the previous edition. I also browse the castboolits site alot and get info there.

Re: Cast bullet loading book
Besides the Hodgdon Data Center, I find the Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook the most useful. I see they've just released vol. 4, I have to get one myself. One can never have too many reloading manuals.

Re: Cast bullet loading book
The new Lyman cast bullet manual also contains data for other brands of cast bullets.
It is probably the most complete cast bullet manual out there and a "must have " for me.

+2 and Lee Modern Reloading 2d ed for .308 cast
Re: Cast bullet loading book
I have 4 books that have cast bullet data Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook, Lee's Modern Reloading 2nd Ed., Laser Cast Reloading (Oregon Trail) and The Complete Reloading For (your caliber as they are for a single caliber). Now the complete are somewhat older but plenty of places to allow for updates also and is also spiral bound. I also use the information I download from various powder makers sites.
Re: Cast bullet loading book
Depending on calibers you shoot. the current Lyman cast bullet book which is good, did drop some calibers from the previous edition. So a new and old edition is a must for a full selection. Lee is also a good book.
Re: Cast bullet loading book
Lyman's Cast Bullet Handbook 3rd Edition (much better in content) or 4th Edition (not as good articles or "how to " info unless you're into BPC competition. Slightly better load data). For getting into casting and shooting lead, it's hard to beat Lyman's. Further study would be works by Fryxell, or Brennan.
Of course, it's hard to find anything not covered at Castboolits.com

Re: Cast bullet loading book
I've used the Lyman book ever since I started casting !
I also used Mike Venturino's book on shooting and casting for leverguns . My mild to medium loads pretty much came from his book .
I used the fellow that owns Beartooth Bullets suggestions on cast bullets for the 444 Marlin in bullet weights from 325-400 grains as well .
