Tang sight for model 94 .25-35
I just bought a 1942 vintage Winchester model 94 in .25-35. I have used Marble's tang sights very sucessfully on several other leverguns. Does anyone know if the Marble's will fit a 94 of this vintage without drilling and tapping?

Is there a threaded hole or filler plug in front of the tang bolt a inch or so? Nice find, what loads you plan shooting in it? 3leg

30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

You can usually use the Marbles tang sight with just the tang screw, leaving the other hole blank. I have 4 rifles rigged this way and it works just fine. Put a little dab of epoxy under the sight base if you want, not really needed, cinch the tang screw down nice and tight with some blue loctite, shoot forever, no worries.

Can't give too many specifics yet since I have only seen photos of the gun. It is being shipped to me today from TN. I found three boxes of Winchester factory loads (it wasn't easy) to get things started. Am open to load suggestios. I've been looking for a .25-35 for some time, and believe I got a pretty good deal at $700 for one in nice condition and really look forwardto getting it to the range next week.

Welcome to Leverguns!
Per the Midas book, the 94 tang was drilled & tapped for a tang sight up to about the million mark. Here is a pic of what the tang looks like if there is a pre-drilled hole for the tang sight:
