Closer to Being a Levergunner.
I was kinda ashamed to be on the forum , only owning 1 levergun.
And that being a 356w, well , really didn't get the feeling that i was
a " levergunner".
Well I got a little closer to being one of you , I hope....
It's not one with history, But at least the caliber is getting there..
(94AE 45 Colt ) Looks Like a saddle gun, with the ring and short barrel.
Came across it in the gun store, It really looks clean,
Perfect Bluing, some minor stock dents, . When I cleaned the
powder from the barrel it only took a few swabs with Rem oil.
No copper or lead, Could not have been shot much. Best Part, 400$ Tax included.
? I think it was worth it......?
I held the 356w and this little Colt, I REALLY Like this Lever Gun.....!!
Bad news, Another set of dies........
Tryed to post Pics, found out I can't, Sorry..
Maybe I'll post on another forum , and link..

Being a "Levergunner" is as much a state of mind as a state of inventory, Grasshopper...

I only have two but have owned two others. It is a mind thing dude, usually levergunners have give up trying to set the atmosphere alight from super fast over bore cartridges and just concentrate on bringing home the bacon or splatting the varmint just the same

I have several, including 44 magnum, 35 Remington, and 45-70. I once had a Savage 99F in .308. That having been said, it seems like every hardcore, crusty old levergunners, though, all should have at least one flavor of Winchester 94 or Marlin in their possession that is in 30-30. Not having one at least one 30-30 is sort of like having eggs for breakfast without ham, bacon or sausage.

I have 5 levers, but now I'm starting to feel GUILTY for not owning a 30-30... I used to...does that count? Oh well, I can always eat Cherrios for breakfast or Eggs with Elk steaks I reckonjlchucker wrote:I have several, including 44 magnum, 35 Remington, and 45-70. I once had a Savage 99F in .308. Oldmax, you really know how to humble some of us. You come here and apologize for only owning one lever gun for some time now, then you mention that it just happened to be in a most coveted caliber. That 356 is the same as if you had 10 other levers, so no apology necessary. Glad you're here, hope to hear a lot from you about more and more and more lever action guns. Just don't get divorced over it.!!!
To hell with them fellas, buzzards gotta eat same as the worms.

Thanks Guys, Your the best, I haven't felt this good in a long time.
( And I haven't even shot it )
Been married to long for divorce ( ?? 46 yrs ) , Plus I've been remodeling
the entire house, Lot's of atta boys saved up...
When I was first married I did own a Marlin in 35 rem, My first rifle , 100 - 50 cent pieces. Took almost a year to save for it, Great deer gun,
gave it away to my son. Also a 1894C 357 mag, sold that one..
But, I'm still sitting here looking at the new one. Just Like a Kid again.
Great to be young at 69, and getting excited about hunting next fall.
Thanks again guys for sharing my enjoyment....

Don't feel guilty for owning 5 levers, but it sounds like you need one more--even if you don't do anything with it but carry it around with you in the back of your pickup truck. That breakfast sounds good--being a good Jarhead I know you'll wash it down with coffee and not Koolaid.![]()

I've bought, sold, traded a bunch over the years, but some of the best times were when I only had a few; I think then you really do appreciate them more.
Still, now that I have more, I try to make a conscious effort to make them ALL feel appreciated. A lonesome, un-shot, un-loved gun sobbing in the gun safe gets tears all over the others and rusts them - I've surely seen it happen.

I only have two at the moment, but it's the levergunners spirit that is to be prized.
On other forums you are not hip unless your projectile is 4000 fps+ or will be
made fun of if your group is .001 of an inch smaller than mine.
Here a man can say "I made this load, and it killed a whitetail." And everyone
says "YeeeeHaaaa".
That's what it's all about.
