Two lever action receivers--photos

Post by mod71alaska »

A while back I had the opportunity to buy a Marlin 39 custom case hardened lever and hammer. I finally got around to putting them on my Second Amendment "Right To Bear Arms" octagon barrel Model 39. I like it!

Nice! The grip and lever on the Mod 71 sure reminds me of the Mod 89 from Big Horn Armory.

Not even close to museum pieces, just taken care of. While I overall prefer the Winchester 9422, this octagon barrel Marlin 39 is my favorite woods walking .22. It's light, accurate and just likes to come along with me. The 71 also is a shooter.

I got one of the Marlin Centenniel engraved 336 actions from Moodyholler a few years back . The action had some pitting on the underside from laying in the velvet lined case Marlin packaged the 336-39A pair in !

Anyway like alotta other things I sold the action to someone on Gunbroker a few years back !

Now I kinda wish I had kept it and built another 444 with a 24" ballard rifled barrel .
