Our new sweet baby girl. Six weeks old, 7/8ths standard poodle and 1 part golden retriever. Mom and dad were both about 60 lbs. Steel blue eyes so she should be a good shot.
Home for one day and she already rules the roost...
I'm thinking that's a dang good looking pooch. The standards are supposed to be among the smartest of pooches....It it true they don't shed? That they are hypo-allergenic?

They don't shed, they are less allergenic (seems at least one person is allergic to anything). Golden Doodles can be sheaders or not, depending on which way the genes go, but generally they don't shed. I tease folks that get them that they end up with a dumbed down dog since Goldens aren't always the brightest. But the one's I've known have been pretty smart.

Gosh darn thing is so ridiculously cute we're not getting anything done around here! It's nuts.
But yes, as noted they usually don't shed. This one being from a mom bred back to a pure poodle almost certainly will not shed, but she did get the round head and it looks like some other features of a lab, and the blue eyes are not a poodle trait. For those that are unfamiliar, poodles that are left unmolested (I can't stand the ridiculous French poodle cut) have long, curly hair - not fur as other dogs do. Golden and labradoodles have looser curls and a more stocky and round shape vs. the pointy needle nose shape like a doberman that a poodle has.

The cross breeding seems to promote good health and excellent dispositions too. Or so we hope! The pup is sure calm and sweet and getting along with our other two dogs well so far. We shall see...
Most of the mixed breed dogs I have known have been great dogs. I hope this pup of yours is a great dog.
