I have pretty much stopped shooting my first generations in the last year and carry this 45 Colt Made by Cimarron Arms in Fredericksburg, Texas and customized by Burnt-Mill gunsmiths. It feels, looks, and shoots like an old blackpowder Colt SAA and I don't worry about depreciation. RR7
Are those Mosin Nagant 7.62 x 54 R stripper clips ( or British Enfield´s for .303 Brit )?
And how do those speed up the loading cycle?
I think, a Desert Eagle .44 Mag would be more practical?

Those are LeeEnfield clips. I use Mosin clips for the .45 Colt.
It is faster to get five cartridges out of the bottom of your pocket if they are clipped together, instead of mixed in with keys and pocket change.

I've not seen a Desert Eagle that was even sort of reliable.
I will take five shots quick and sure, over the possibility of the Desert Eagle firing multiple shots without a malfunction.
For the cost, bulk, and weight of a Desert Eagle, I could carry two or three single actions and discard them as they became empty. [/MHO]

Jack
Jack,
I think that Hermann was referring to using a Desert Eagle Magazine for your reload instead of the Lee Enfield clips.

Oh! Perhaps I misunderstood.
I saw a couple of Desert Eagle magazines in the gun shop for $50 each.
I think that I will stick with LE stripper clips at $1 each.
Talk about SAA Porn, I have a tawdry little tale to tell. For years now, I have been buying, trading and the like, building up a stash for an original colt.
Well, I took advantage of the panic this year and sold my unfired AR-15, my S&W Mod 65 .357, and three other guns and made my dream come true.
I am the proud owner of two Colt Mod 73's, both made in 1897. One with a 5 1/2 barrel, the other 4 3/4 Both in 44-40 and tight as a tic.
I shoot black powder out of both of them and get 3 inch groups at 25 feet.
Earlier this month, I went to my SASS shoot and used my two pistols. My old iron Winchester 1873 that was made in 1879, and my double Parker brothers 10 gauge made in 1878.
The ground shook, the guns thundered, and that double 10 spit 20 foot flames!
Guys. The world doesn't get any better than that!
