That is one of my favorite songs. I'll always associate it with the 4th of July 1968. We were guarding a new bridge east of Chu Chi. There was an Arvin compound across the river and they would play it over loudspeakers. It sounded even more hauntingly eerie echoing over the water.

Okay, I can tell you for sure they did and still do. I saw them in Orange County Sunday. Check them out on other video's, it's pretty amazing what they can do.
