Did find some .22 LR today

Post by olyinaz »

Stingers, and was only allowed 5 boxes, but that's nice because now I can go shooting and not feel like I'm carelessly burning rare unobtainium. There were also a passel of AR-15s and AK-47s at my fav shop so maybe things are starting to return to sanity?

[Edit] Crossed paths with a fool at the shop and ranted here a bit. (Removed it - not worth our time. Sorry 'bout that.)

Next time you see those .22s take a picture.

Might be the closest some folks will get for a while.

This might actually BE my first post on this forum...thought I registered long ago, but maybe not...

For what it's worth, I love the lever-action and just 'joined', only to find no matter WHAT forum I go to, .22LR seems hared to find!
Incredible.

Whoodathunkit?

Looking forward to finding my way around here.

Shop near here was selling boxes of 50 for $5.00 so at least everyone can get SOME (limit one box per customer per day). Don't know if they still have any left or not, since I had enough not to need to buy any and figured let the folks who need it more than me go get it.

I agree with AJ,
let the folks who really need it have it.

When there's none available and I want to go shooting with the boys? I NEED it! Just can't believe I found some.

I haven't seen any for sale for a long time. If I didn't have a couple of 550 round boxes stashed away, I might forget what it even looks like.

Visiting the in-laws in Alabama. I am dangerously close to being out of 22 LR and havent seen any for about 3 months up north. So I went to every gun store in town. The last one had boxes of 525 for sale (one per customer).

I'm going back tomorrow for another.

My guy tells me it will be about a year for normalcy to return...............as long as there are no other "issues".

The situation is better here in the East. Most quality gun shops with the proper connections (read...its who you know) still have inventory.-----------------6

I've shot about $11 worth of it the last 2 days. Last spring the Feed Store had stinger's on sale for $4.49. I bought 6 boxes and didn't really need them. Am lucky have a few rifles that really like them.

We were at Walmart this afternoon. Not one center fire cartridge, and not one 22 RF cartridge. Some 17 RF and shot gun stuff is all they had.

But ......

......I'm not worried. At the rate I'm shooting up my little stash it be all shot up in about .............. oh .............. never .....

Would $50.00 a brick (500-rounds) for Winchester Super X, X22LRPP, Lead Hollow Point, Lubaloy coated 40 grain .22LR be too much to ask?

There were also a passel of AR-15s and AK-47s at my fav shop so maybe things are starting to return to sanity?

Price check, please?

Last two g. shows I've been to, still seeing $700 AR uppers, $1250 - $1400 AR's, and kilobuck AK's...and they're not moving off the tables.

I think the panic is over and we're settled into watchful and grim determination.

Next two weeks will give us an idea as to a turning point or not.

Agreed. I'll get back later next week and check the prices and inventory.
