DMSO ??

Post by milton »

I am having some muscle pain problems in my right side and I would like to know if I can use DMSO to help the pain and if there are any problems I can expect.

I have used DMSO for that with no ill effects. I also use either Traumeel by Heel or Arniflora. Both in topical forms. Heal well friend.
Kind regards,

DMSO will give you garlic breath. It is used in in a depo oil shot for child molesters to make them smell bad and hopefully keep children away. In a muscle rub type cream it has shown some use, but still can give you bad breath.

Its a great anti-inflammatory, used mostly in large animals- horses. It can carry medication thru the skin on contact. It was used by the hippies for instant "trips", they'd put their LSD in a bit of it and put on the skin. Instant transfer. Its not approved for human use due to some uncommon side effects, glaucoma being one of them. Cant say you'll suffer glaucoma if you use it , but someone did. The most quoted side effect is an overpowering metallic-garlic smell. Very strong, very obnoxious. There are better anti-inflamatories out there. One approved but little used, extremely potent one is ketoprofen. I have used it for years with good results (crushed vertebrae).

I use it very sparingly. It works for inflammation, and it has helped me MUCHO on a few occasions. It will not heal anything, just reduce the inflammation. I've found that if I rub it in real good, wait for a few minutes, and then take a nice hot shower it takes the stink off your skin, but, you'll still taste it in your mouth, and I'm sure others can still get a whiff.....Because of the smell/taste I use it as a last resort kind of thing, but, it does work.

My late Father used to get it from his Veterinarian and used it on his arthritic, crippled hands. He said it gave him a great amount of relief, but found he had a proclivity to "whinny" on odd occasion :o

My father used it with no ill effects. It does make you smell like garlic bread. I get it here from the local farm supply.

I think the main danger is that it causes other chemicals to be readily absorbed through the skin. I would be cautious about what I touched with it on my skin.

I LOVE Korean food so the garlic smell won't bother me. It'll keep the undesirables away too.
My friend has some in her shop, I think I'll try some.

DMSO is really cool for many things...

But remember that its properties ensure that whatever is mixed with it gets into the bloodstream FAST.

IIRC there was a spate of misuse in the 70s where Hippies were mixing LSD into DMSO and then painting the stuff on handrails & doorknobs... to "interesting" effect.

It can also be used quite effectively as a transdermal "carrier" for any number of toxics.

Be very careful when using the stuff... It's a chemical "assault rifle". Totally benign when used properly, but a really dangerous product when misused.

I used it after my back surgery for nerve pain. It works wonders for some stuff. Make sure you are using pharmaceutical grade and not industrial grade. Industrial grade has impurities in it that the DMSO will take through your skin with it. Some people are sensitive to it and it dries their skin out badly. If you have problems with that, mix a solution of 70% DMSO and 30% purified water and apply with a cotton ball. You also want to rub the area you will be applying the DMSO to with rubbing alcohol and let it dry to remove any toxins before putting on the DMSO. Lastly, wait until the DMSO is dry before putting on clothes or coming into contact with anything toxic. The DMSO is safe but it's job, besides reducing inflammation, is transporting stuff into your system through the skin. Just keep that in mind when using the DMSO.
