Grips for SRH 454
I shot mine for the 1st time last weekend. The grip that came with it is a crimson trace lazer grip. I found that the knuckle of my middle finger rests right against the trigger guard which made it very uncomfortable to shoot. Anyone else own one that can recommend a different grip to look at for large hands?

Hogue is always worth a look, as is Pachmayr. There are some websites that you can look at and get stocks for it. You might try Herrett for some really good ones.
http://www.grips4guns.com/revolver/ruger/gp100.html is a site that has some good looking grips. You might do a little searching at gun shows and see if there is someone in your area that makes them. http://www.badgercustomgrips.com/ruger_pistol_grips.php is another site with some good looking grips.

My SRH has the factory Hogue`s. I don`t get my finger banged like I do with my Super Blackhawk`s.
I put a Bandaid around that finger whenever shooting the SBH`s more than a few rounds or Blood will start showing.

When I was shooting/hunting my .454 SRH, I used the issue Ruger (Hogue ?) SRH rubber grips w/insert, w/o any issues whatsoever.

This type of grip from Grips4Guns is designed to eliminate finger bite by moving the hand down lower so that the middle finger is not behind the trigger guard. The Hogue grip is similar with the same intent.

Take a look at Grips4Guns and Midway, they have quite a few options for the SRH.
Happy hunting!

Mine isn't a SRH but a 4" Redhawk and it came with the Houge rubber grips. I hate them!
I saw on Ruger's website that they had some of the original small wood grips so I sent off for them. It transformed it into a totally different gun. I'd like to find some made of micarta.

Re: Grips for SRH 454
I like the looks of the factory RH grips best but they let the trigger guard eat my finger so they are in a zip-lock bag and Hogue grips are what get used for shooting.
