For anyone following the Iditarod - prayers requested
Last year a friend of mine, Aaron Burmeister, ran a new team after taking a couple years off from the race. He was running it as a training run for the new dogs, yet he ended up placing very high, the inexperienced team doing much better than expected.
This year he is hanging right with the leaders again, generally in one of the front thee places at this point in the race.
Would like to see him win this year - he is a great guy with a great family. Requesting prayers for him as he leave Unalakleet for this last part of the race.
Here is some info:
You can follow the progress here: http://iditarod.com/race/2013/standings/
Thanks guys!

Jeff King is currently in the lead, with Mitch Seavey, Aliy Zirkle, Ray Redington Jr, and Aaron Burmeister within striking distance. The first musher should be to Nome sometime later this evening or early tomorrow morning.

Yes, prayers for all those hardy people.
Re: For anyone following the Iditarod - prayers requested
Prayers up for a strong safe finish.

Aliy Zirkle is in second place, while the 2 Seaveys are in first and fifth respectively. A lot can happen between Elim and Nome. 2 more checkpoints to go for these guys, then it's on to Nome. The weather is clear and a little cold so that should be good for the mushers and the dogs.

Looking pretty close between Seavey and Zirkle going into Nome. Not sure if there will be enough time left for Zirkle to catch up - a bit behind going through Safety, so looks like it will probably be Seavey.

Mitch Seavey won the Iditarod. He just came into Nome. GCI channel 1 is carrying the finish.
