UNABLE to access Photobucket

Is anybody else having this problem?

Despite the fact the my "img" photos in Photobucket show up on this forum, I have not been able to enter the Photobucket site to browse, add or change anything for the last 2 or 3 days.

I log on with my password, get a very brief Photobucket site screen, then I get dumped to a Yahoo search page.

I log on without my password - "beta.photobucket.com," get a very brief Photobucket site screen, then I get dumped to a Yahoo search page.

I log on without my password to just plain - "photobucket.com," get a very brief Photobucket site screen, then I get dumped to a Yahoo search page.

I can log on to any other site as expected, so it isn't with my firewall, virus protection software, or platform - as far as I can tell.

How about the rest of you?

I did not check before you posted but was able to login and access my files at 12:44am CST.

No problems from here.

11:35 p.m. west coast time, I can log into my Photobucket account using my bookmark, or by Googling for photobucket. No problem for me. Here's hoping you find the solution to your problem...

Thank you for the help, FWeidner and Shasta. Your answers led me back to my browser, since there was no problem with your connections.

For some reason, Firefox now keeps bouncing out of Photobucket, now matter what I do. So I just use the Google Chrome browser to access that site.

Since the workaround works, I won't worry about it. With the constant Windows security patches over the years, somewhere along the line I lost functionality with IE, as well; so I don't even bother with it anymore.

If anybody has problems like this, just switch to another browser!

UPDATE: Got latest Firefox download. Must have been a bug in some recent update. Working again. Thanks again, gentlemen.

While on the subject does anyone know where the setting to resize photes ya upload to PH is. All my pictures are to big to post here now.

When you view your library, run your curser (screen arrow) over the picture that you want to resize. A symbol will appear at top right of picture. Put curser over symbol, a drop down box appears. Put curser over "edit" and click. Screen will change to an enlarged view of picture, with a row of edit options along the top of the picture. Select "resize". Two boxes with numbers will appear at top of picture, one for height one for width. Type number that you wish to resize into one of the boxes. Neither size can be larger than 1000 to use on leverguns. When you change either, the other number automatically resizes. There is a box at top right that asks if you want to apply, save, or replace.
Hope this works for you. On my computer, this process can be very slow. Be patient, it will work eventually.

ETA: This is on the new version of Photobucket. I never could access the old version after the change.

I strongly recommend Irfanview - at least if you have a PC. I don't know if there is a download that works on MACs.

LE uses it to navigate through, view, and categorize thousands of photos on suspects' computers, for instance, when gathering evidence - especially in child porn investigations where photos can quickly be viewed as multiple pages thumbnails to save time in examining the content.

For the everyday user, it allows you to quickly resize your photos before sending them to the buggy, slow revision of Photobucket that we are now stuck with. Every person who I have recommended it to has commented that this is one of the best free applications available anywhere!

Mr. Skiljian's efforts are 100% supported by donations. I don't like throwing away money, but I have his latest update and so I sent him another 10 Euros - $13.33 - which is far cheaper than similar commercial photo processing software that is not as well put together. But you don't have to pay anything. Pretty amazing after all of these years.

In the old PB there was a setting in settings where you could set the size for all pictures you upload, that`s what i`m looking for.

PB is working fine for me. Actually, seems to be a little less buggy than it has been. Maybe they are getting it together? I know, not likely!
