Post by 2ndovc »

Picked up a Ruger Old Army this morning for $300. I always wnted one and now that they're being discontinued I just couldn't pass it up.

Now I need to download the Manual, Order some new stag grips, find a holster, etc. :D

Congratulations on the good find. I've never shot one of those. Maybe someday.

Just a thought, while they are still readily available you might consider picking up an extra set of screws and nipples along with an extra pawl and latch from Brownells.

Not to mention, you're gonna NEED a .45 Colt conversion cylinder for it.
They can be ordered as easily as a pair of sneakers: ;)

BTW - I've got a set of white bone grips that will fit it, that I painted black. The paint should remove/dissolve/strip easily - so if you want them, you can have them for the bubble.

Great find at a great price! I had to give fifty dollars more for mine a couple of years ago....

I made the grips/stocks from quilted maple...

Was lookin' at those too! There's a bunch of stuff I need for it. That's just part of the addiction I guess. Buying all the stuff that goes along with a new gun! 8)

Papa,

Those grips are sharp!! Love Maple. :D

Thanks, I know the left side looks like a different color than the right, but it was just the lighting and my bad camera skills

Hoping to take a deer with it this year :D
