BL 22 wont eject spent cartridges 'please help!
Just bought used bl 22, will throw live shells across the room'but take outside and shoot it' Ihave to dig out spent shell with pocket knife after every shot already ordered ejector spring it looks like it missing if it sits in small hole inside port under ejector? Hate to go to gunsmith'thanks for any help

I agree. It it extracts and ejects live ammo well, probaly a dirty chamber. Maybe previous owner fired a lot of 22 short in it and it left a crud ring in the chamber.
Happiness is a comfortable stump on a sunny south facing mountain.

Well, maybe..........................
The rifle might have been extensively dry-fired (it's a rimfire), causing the firing pin tip to dislodge a bit of the rim recess into the chamber wall just enough that an expanded.fired shell will "stick", while an unfired one won't.
I would take a very close look at the edge of the chamber/rim recess, where the FP impinges.
If there is an issue there - DO NOT FILE the bump "off" !
The proper repair would be to iron/swedge the protrusion back into the chamber wall from whence it came - Brownell's sells a special ironing tool for just that repair.

thanks everyone for your help, turned out to be missing ejector spring, apparently they weight of live shell let it eject but spent shell was held in ejection port tight, have new spring on the way from numrich, thanks again
