Yeah. Seen that and was in shock that someone could make something look so ugly.
Hope you have been good.
Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
Somebody needs slapped.
But then again, if his reserve isn't too out of line, which it probably is given the BIN price, it could be a good project for a real levergunner.

Someone has been watching too much Zombie TV and been playing video games which are better left in the package. The person responsible for that atrocity should say 150 John Moses Brownings and wash his hands with Hoppes 9 in penance. Either that, or get kicked in the seat of the pants by the entire Radio City Music Hall Rockettes line one by one.

Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
I see that I am not the only one thinking that that abomination would be a rather nice bargain project gun! Though not at $250.
Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
.
Not IMHO even @ $150 - and I've rescued waaaaay more than my share.
Even refurbed, that puppy would be hard-pressed to bring $250.

LOL.refinished and updated to a great looking, great shooting rifle
Yeah, sweet job.
Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

Everyone has a different idea of what "great looking" means...
Just glad it has (evidently) had a home with someone who 'cares' for it, even though it makes most of us shiver. Hopefully the new buyer will give it some TLC, too.

Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
I like the "refinished and updated". I would pay $150 or $200 to see what is under that mess, but not more. It will defiantly be a PROJECT to make that one nice again.

It's got six bids!
I wouldn't pay a hunnert bucks for it! Who knows what's under that fugly paint. The wood certainly looks beat to death - the metal could be pitted and rusted to junk. And the seller's BS description makes me doubt that his bore description is accurate either.

Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
I am still stunned it's on GB
Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
I love the acrylic bluing. As sad as someone painting their car with a paint brush or that lady in Spain who touched up the portrait of Jesus.
Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
The moron has it listed, on both GB and GA. I guess if we really wanted to screw with him we could do the BIN simultaneously, on both auctions. If Gunauction.com finds out about the double listing they will pull his listing, but it's so fugly it would take a collector of "modern art" to want it.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Re: WOW !!!!!!!!! Marlin 39 Disaster
I've never seen a gun that was more misrepresented. Well cared for? Did you see the condition of the butt plate? The checkering under whatever is painted over it looks heavily damaged. And what are the red splotches supposed to be? This has to be a joke listing. And if the outside is any indication I seriously doubt the stated condition of the bore.

Junk is junk and always will be junk.
I guess we could think of it another way. Pretend your in the middle of nowhere with nothing to eat and you got Indians scoping you out. I bet that 39 would look very nice -------Sixgun

Well... I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
isn't there some law about "truth in advertising?" If ever there was a more apt change of "beholder" to "beer-holder", this is it!updated to a great looking

I have no idea what the seller is on, but we need to keep it away from the children.
