As for my upcoming question, you can see that I am not a world traveler...........Is snow rare over your way?------------------Sixgun
Most years we see some Six, some worst than others and some years nothing. Thats why everything stops here, we don't gear up for it due to it not lasting long.

Here in Central Europe we usually shoot only the Cocks!
If a Hen falls per accident or by the dogs, no biggie, but constantly shooting Hens will decrease the population, is the opinion here.

We do shoot hens, some shoots limit hens shot to a few per gun. Some shoots are wild birds only, the hens may as well be gold there! These birds were reared and released to the woods in summer and the same will happen next season.
With good predation controll a few hens taken should be and is fine.
I must admit to prefering a cock bird over a hen, for the reasons you express!

Mike it is a Ugartachea(I may of mis-spelt that!) ejector, nothing to fancy but hardly used and it fits.
The week before I was using my little Holloway ejector with the last of my Pyrodex loaded shells and I shot much better! I think the shells I was using yesterday are to fast or read to modern! I think I was shooting to far in front! The leading they have left behind is bad too! By the way, stubborn lead,,,boiling water
