To me there is some unclearness. They talk ounces and pounds, but don't clarify if they mean Troy or Avoirdupois ounces. Anyway, they also mention the metric weight, 2.8 Kilograms.

That article is a bit sloppy, the nugget found must be in troy oz, as 177 troy oz does equal 5.5 kg....

Then later on they are talking to the owner of a rock shop who tells them that his finds over some period of time (20 years I think it was) total only 100 oz -- but the author converted those from avoirdupois to get 2.8 kg (100 troy oz is 3.1 kg).

Big nugget, how ever it's measured :D

"Tonto would have been classy enough to make them gold."

For what they are selling for today, they should be gold!!

Have you tried to buy any .22 ammo lately?? I just got a couple boxes from my local dealer friend today when I picked up a new Ruger 22/45 . He went in the VAULT and produced them from his hiding spot.

Ruminating ............

Many many summers ago we'd go from Phoenix to Prescott and from Cortes Jct to about Mayer to Dewey there was NOTHING. Then from Mayer and Dewey there was NOTHING until Prescott.
We'd pass through what became Prescott Valley and could actually see antelope roaming off in the distance.

Then some .... pelosi for brains decided that area was so nice and pretty they just had to develop it. Not long after that some other pelosi for brains in the Arizona DOT decided they needed to widen the highway from Cortes Jct to Prescott.

Now there is nothing but human pollution from Phoenix to Prescott. The beautiful open areas are ruined. It's not pretty any more.

What can I say? I still wanna go back.

When I first went there, you could see PV in the distance, now I am surrounded by the township.
The company that widened the road made a deal with the state they could process the dirt they moved,
they got as much in gold as they got for building the road.
