Lead ? 4 those in IN

Post by J Miller »

Has IN outlawed lead wheel weights? IL has :x

If not perhaps someday soon I can break out my bullet casting stuff and cook me some bullets.

Hi - I work for GM. We haven't used lead in several years. So I'm suspicious of wheel wieghts these days.

I have been getting lead from dentists - the foil from the x-ray films. Also scrap dealers.

Good luck!

I think it was January last year that all tire shops had to start using non-lead weights. The last tire I had fixed came back with a steel weight on it.

Lead weights will still be coming into tire shops for years to come on
tires that are now in service and will need to be replaced at some point.

I have over half a ton or more now but if I go through that I will be
buying new alloy to replace it. WW are a pain to deal with and new metal
can be purchased reasonably enough for the amount I shoot up.

Yeah, but you got a head start on me. I haven't cooked a bullet in 15 years.
I have a little of my old stash left , but not enough funds to order in nice shiny new ignots.

Of course you could spot me a couple hundred pounds of yours. You wouldn't miss it. :D

Hay Joe, If we were close by that would work.
UPS would love to help us out for a price.
I don`t know how they do it but Roto Metals will ship for FREE when you
buy 100# + IIRC.

I just sent my Lyman 20# pot back to the factory to get the element replaced
UPS ground was $28 one way.

Chuck,

We have been receiving sewing machines from UPS, Fed-Ex and the USPS for just over a year now. We have watched the prices go up up up.

Now I've got to ship some and I hope the prices of shipping don't scare away my buyers.

Once I get established we'll go from there.

Blaine,

I have two plans.

A: Move to IN, buy a home and breath a sigh of relief. Then find a place I can go and shoot till I drop.

B: Move to the west, same as above.

There are just more places you can do that out west.

We'll see.
