A new magazine hits the racks

Post by Rusty »

Jr came home from the grocery store (Publix) yesterday with the Premier Issue of "AMERICAN FRONTIERSMAN" magazine. I'd say just about everyone here would find it interesting.

Some of the table of contents reads: dugout canoes, timeless camp tools, trailready .22's, driving a water well, long live the longbow, cooking a deer heart mountainman medicine,a custom Buck 110, and more. this issue has 44 articles in it.
Gotta go to work now But I'll post more on it later.

I picked up a copy last week, pretty interesting reading, thought I read in it though that its only published annually. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The artwork reminds me of the Blackpowder Annual that I have not been able to
find in years. THAT was good magazine. I will be looking for this.

Is this just an annual? Ten bucks is getting up there for a monthly magazine.

Getting down to reading the masthead I see it is an annual publication put out by Harris Publications. The same people that publish the Harris Farmer's Almanac that I keep around for yearly information and planting dates.

I picked up the Premier issue today. At $9.95 I hope the reg issues are a lot less or it will be an orphan. Good read so far though.

I got one last week. Isnt it amazing that something like that magazine grabs our interest when we walk by?
I've been picking and reading articles that interest me. The muzzleloading article isnt much, but it would be a fairly good one for a beginner. I did like the Kephart stuff and the brain tanning and acorn tanning information could be useful when I retire.
