Christmas booty

Post by olyinaz »

With bona fides. :D

No levers or wood this year. :( Once we get through the current tranche of mob democracy idiocy I'll refocus on some fine woodcraft and case colored steel.

If YOU got one, post it!

Merry Christmas,
Oly

I showed this one last week, but, it was a present from Santa Blaine.....I personally never cared much for a semi-auto platform (not one thing wrong with them).....I'd been lusting after one of these since they first came out, and Santa thought better get one now while they were still around. (That "thing" on the muzzle makes it kill 10 times better :o   )

Say, your foot looks hurt....you didn't drop a knife on it or something? :P

Don't have a pic, but my son surprised me with a high-polish stainless Ruger Bisley Vaquero in .45 Colt. Now to just find some ammo.

Like Blaine, I posted this one before, Santa Griff came by early, because he knew there was a full schedule ahead!

Yeah Oly, what's with the bandage on the foot? BTW, is that the Windham Weaponry "Varmint Exterminator"?

From the title, I thought this thread was about something else...

Hey Oly, nice EBR!

Hardy har! You and Blaine... :D

To the fellow who asked, it's a Wyndham Weaponry "Varmint Exterminator", 20" stainless barrel in .223, ACE stock.

It was procured at Sportsman's Warehouse just before the stupidity kicked into high gear. Sadly, since it's a "modern sporting rifle" it didn't come with a hi-cap mag. I've got plenty of course, but I'd have been happy to find another in the box. :?

I look forward to getting it to the range when I'm not hobbling. My first stainless barreled rifle! Any barrel break in tips?

ok..that's funny...real funny..at least he's standing...we need a "sticky" that shows the quality, or lack there-of, of foot-ware in our pics...sorry Oly i deeply apologize for my lack of sensitivity and decorum... :)

barrel-break-in-tips: the only one i can think of is don't use a really sharp samurai sword and say, "watch this"...
doesn't help with accuracy... :)

IMO, if your barrel is a good quality air-gauged barrel, no need. Just shoot. But, if it were me, even then I wouldn't go yankin' the trigger as fast as you can for 30 rounds! Shots timed to allow the barrel to cool, for the first 20 or 30 shots should suffice. Even if it's not air-gauged, but still of good quality stainless, like 416R, that's well made, same thing.

My wife got me one of the new Ohio made Ithaca 37 20ga shotguns.A friend of mine who is a big upland hunter bought it and it didn t suit him.He really is a double gun guy and he could t get it to fit him right, he even bought a second set of stocks for it but no go.So he phoned me up asking if I wanted it for $600 he put only a couple boxes of shells thru it so it is as new .He found a nice double and he needed to sell it quick.Well my wife over heard the conversation , asked me if I wanted it and bought it for me and tucked it away until Christmas day.I took it out today and it is as slick as snot .The new Ithacas live up to the reputation of the old ones and then some. They are pricy but worth it.
