RIP Charles Durning

He was a WW2 soldier, multiple Purple Hearts and awarded the Silver Star, in the first wave to hit Omaha Beach plus he was a survivor of the Malmedy massacre of POW's. danny

i really liked him as an actor...but more than that he was hero... :)

I always liked his characters. I loved his comment, "I'd like to get a decade of my life back..." in regards to his wartime experiences.

Yep, another good one gone. He "made" The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas. the move was good, but Durning stole the movie.

My favorite role of his was Sperm Whale in The Choir Boys.
