I haven't shot it yet, but I picked up some Remington Core-Lokt Managed Recoil Soft Point 125gr. loads to accommodate my seriously bum shoulder. They appear to be in the same general ballpark as a 7.62x39 recoil-wise, which should be fine.
Anyway... here it is... I have to say, it's just beautiful... balance, action, trigger... all really, really sweet. The white stuff on the checkering is fuzz... the lines are so sharp it picks up little bits of lint from the gun-sock. The blueing is really deep, too. Much nicer than most standard 94s I've seen.

My plan is to rig it with a Marble's folding-leaf rear sight, a Williams FP and an XS front sourdough. I've been shooting the 1894C I bought off fellow forumite 1886 with an FP and I like it. The Marble's front post with brass bead he put on it isn't as visible to me as I would like, and I had a 336 a few years ago with an XS blade & peep I could see well, so I'm going to mix and match the FP and XS post on the Winnie and see how it works for me. The folding-leaf is basically instead of a slot-blank, but I do plan to sight it in before I put the FP on in case I ever need it as a backup to the Williams (a stretch, I know).
Haycock.
