In Washington, it wouldn't be a good idea to kill him unless you were in danger, but, you could dang sure hold him for the cops...What an idiot that dude was.....

Here in the land of Oz "Mr" Moore would be the innocent victim and the home owner would be in double deep do-do, double because not only did he go armed in public and terrorize a man with a gun but he incited his son to do likewise.
I do envy you guys having a constitution and laws that make sense.

I'm both pleased and surprised the local CBS affiliate aired a story where the presence of a hand gun in a law abiding home owner's hand was enough to stop a crime in progress without being fired!
Our local CBS affiliate is filled with anti-2nd Amendment zealots like NBC's Bob Costas!
Kudos to the home owner and his wife for their coolness under pressure! Tt.

2. Homeowner's dog worthless. Maybe it's just visiting from back east.
Thor would make quite a racket, but, it would be because he was overjoyed at someone new to play with at 0300hrs....I'm sure I'd hear it, though. It would be a shame to shoot Thor's new best friend.

I have 3 dogs that would be overjoyed at a new friend to play with, and 1 who would attempt to find the person's most atavistic fear of death.

I'm glad the homeowner replied to the reporter in an articulate, intellegent manner, and using common sense. His actions show that guns stop crime, sometimes without being fired...
