Re: Saving Youtube
Copy the URL of the You Tube video you want. Go to http://www.keepvid.com and paste the URL into the address bar. Click on the grey Download box - do not click on the big green Download button. You will have a choice of download formats and if in doubt MP4 is about the most compatible. Some You Tube videos will have DRM protection and can't be saved.

Re: Saving Youtube
Download helper is an extention for Firefox for saving imbedded video. As a note, regardless of how you get the file, most youtube is saved as a .flv extention. You'll need a something other than windows media player for playback. VLC is a good option for that and is, of course, free.

Another vote of confidence for Firefox and the add-on Download Helper.
VLC also, a very good program.

Video Download Helper apparently can also convert to a format of your choice as it saves, e.g., Windows Media Player, mpeg, etc.Panzercat wrote:Download helper is an extention for Firefox for saving imbedded video.
