Your results with Lil'gun are similar to mine in the 357 and 360 DW. After around 90% load density velocity drops off. In both the 357 and 360, the report was audibly different as velocity dropped.

I cannot see clearly in your video so I have a question. "Did that cap remain on the jug?" I would not have thought so, but it looked like it did.

PPpastordon, yes it did. It was a sealed jug of store bought water.

Man, do I feel weird calling someone Papa at my age! If your old enough to meet that title, you are certainly older than dirt! When I got called older than dirt earlier this week I said, "Thanks."

Anyway; I am curious about your loads. Can you give me (and the rest of the world) some OAL's on them? Actually, I believe I can load my .32 H&R to the same ballistics by loading to a longer OAL than "normal" for the H&R. I am looking for a 120 to 130 cast that will allow that. Wish I already had a .312- .314 Louverin design, it would work wonders! My 150 is a tad too heavy (IMHO)!

Here's some info for you

Bullet - Bullet Length - Cannelure to base - COL

85 XTP - .489 - .240 - 1.440
-
100 XTP - .564 - .310 - 1.440

115FP - .652 - .383 - 1.460

from forward of lube groove .256 - 1.600

American Eagle 100 gr COL - 1.463

I measured from the forward edges of the cannelure to the base of the bullet on the XTP's

Just got my first Great - grandchild the 1st of this month. At this age though, still not too much older than you. I'll make 63 in August.

The OAL's tell me it may well be possible to make .327's out of my .32 H&R's by loading them long.

I'm assuming you're talking about a 32 SP101?

Hamilton says they had two different length cylinders for that gun. The latter one, the last 4 or 5 years or so, had the 357 cylinder in them and wouldn't be a problem to ream to 327.

He said the 357 was proofed to 46K and the 327 should be fine.

I have an older 4 inch CA Bulldog built on the 357 gun and I loaded some 32 H&R's out to 1.465 for about 1175fps using 8.5 #9 under the 115FP. It'll make a nice trail gun.
