Saw a Celebrity Today.
Had just gotten off my job and was on my way to class walking through Phoenix Skyharbor's Airport terminal four when somebody mighty familiar looking passed by. Rustic looking fella, gray beard tied up in double braids... Even if I didn't recognize him on sight, that's a pretty distinctive fashion statement and I did a double take as he passed. Sure enough, Gunblast.com was printed in gigantic lettering on the back of his shirt.
Yep. Jeff Quinn
I thought for a moment I'd go back and say hi, pester him with a handshake and all that but people are usually on a tight schedule and not wandering around the airport like I was so I let him be and hoped his flight went smoothly in the back of my my mind.

Re: Saw a Celebrity Today.
I would have made a brief encounter. It helps to build their ego.
I remember last year a guy came up to me at the Allentown show and says, "Are you Sixgun"? I says, "Yep, dat be me"! Look here, I ain't nobody but my head was spinning all weekend.
On your first description, I thought you were describing Pitchy. -----Sixgun

I got to meet Jimmy Stewart at the International Scout Jamboree in Idaho in 1967. What a nice guy!

Jeff is an easy guy to meet. Even on a tight schedule he will slow down enough to acknowledge a person.
Don't ever pass up the opportunity to speak to him.
When a person speaks of "Salt of the earth" know that Jeff is the saltiest.

Re: Saw a Celebrity Today.
Met a lot of famous people.
Didn't care for most of them.
Shaken hands with/been in the presence of George W. about 30 times as a member of the media. From the few seconds I got to talk to him, he's smarter than a lot of people think due to the media, and knowing others who've spent a lot of time around him, he cares about people. A lot.
Interviewed George Sr as the same. He's taller, and a nice guy. His USSS detail loved him.
Interviewed the two girls taken prisoner by the Taliban back in '01 before the war.
Met a swarm of congressmen, didn't care for most of them.
Spent an hour across a table from Robin Williams, who even seriously tired was hilarious. He autographed my boonie hat as all my gear had been dropped in my room and I got a pic.
Lance Armstrong, to put it nicely, was a dweeb.
Kid Rock was better than i expected, and actually cared about the troops.
Tina Louise (Ginger from Gilligan's Island) even forty years after the show, had some attitude and was very "Hollywood". Met the director of PT109 and most of the old TV shows of the 60s (Maverick, Mission Impossible, etc), in fact, it was in his house, and he was very gracious, the exact opposite.
Nelson DeMille (author) was a really nice guy.
The guy who came up with the idea for the Today and Tonight shows (Steve Allen?) was rather too much like Tina Louise, and very self important. He also destroyed a $500 microphone by accident and didn't even offer to replace it.
Quite a few others in that list, but it's early and my brain's not turned on. Lot of gunwriters and those types.
