Anyone have any experiance with Tikas or T/C Icons?

With all the time I have on my hands I have been doing some gun trading.
Now I have a shot at a T/C Icon or maybe a Tika, I don't know a lot about either, but it seems the T/C Venture had some bad reviews but the Icon was well received and the Tika is overall liked.
Both are .243's, and if I can work out either deal I will be on the up side of it, I just wanted to know if anyone had any knowledge of either rifle before I made a decision.

I have a TC Icon, it is a very limited custom 7mm-08 made for Warren Petersen (Petersens Hunting, etc). It is the most accurate rifle I have ever owned, routinely putting 5 shots into a half inch at 100 yds from the bench. Smooth action and great trigger. The scope bases are machined in to the action. The Venture had a different bedding block system and a different trigger. It was recalled but was then straightened out and they continue to be good rifles. If I were to buy another bolt action and I could get the caliber I wanted in an Icon, I'd get it in a second.

FWIW I bought my son a L/H Tikka in 308 a number of years ago and it remains his favorite and most accurate rifle. Very smooth action.

I don`t own either but a good friend is sold on the Tika.
He has killed many an Elk with his.

Never cared for the Tikka. I don't like the fact that you can load from the top

had a TIKKA in .270cal, now own one in .243 cal., great gun at a great price, both are accurate (-3/4" at 100yds)... :)

Set up a Tikka T-3 in 7mm-08 for my daughter's first deer rifle. We love it. Accurate, a great trigger and easy to care all day long.
