Another good shot; I'm doing very well with this rifle now.

I took a 400 yard shot with the Howa 1500 30-06 yesterday; I hit closer to center today with the 30-30.
This rifle has been working flawlessly; I have a lot of faith in it now.

Re: Win94ae 30-30, 400 Yards, 4 Inch Target
I have been reading a bunch of articles, and there is no way that a .30-30 can even reach 400 yards. The magazines all agree on that, and that wimpy .30-30 probably never killed anything tougher than a rabbit. The very idea is ludicrous. The writers in the magazines are all experts and are all perfect, and they will not hesitate to tell you so. (If you think that was serious, then you believe that BlaineG sill never pun again, and that Hobie is a secret gun banner.)
Seriously, it is nice to see proof that an old cartridge is still accurate out of an even older design platform.

I need to get to a longer range so I could see how far I can get accurately.piller wrote:Seriously, it is nice to see proof that an old cartridge is still accurate out of an even older design platform.

Remind me to stay at least 500 yards away from you!
Seriously, that was one great shot!
The problem using historical quotes in your signature is that there is no way to verify its authenticity.

Have you shot any groups to see what it will actually group at that or other longer ranges?
