OT When God made Canada

Post by iceman »

When God made Canada, He gave us fertile land so that we would have bountiful crops to feed ourselves and others. He gave us thousands upon thousands of lakes with crystal clear water to give us and others an aboundant supply of water to drink and support our millions of fish and wild life. He gave us great supplies of fuel such as coal and oil for us and others. He gave us huge supplies of minerals such as iron, copper, lead, silver, gold, zinc etc to allow us to make tools, and vehicles for us and others. He made Canadians proud, friendly, peace loving people. When he was finished Gabrial said "Don't you thing you went a little overboard with Canada and Canadians?" He replied " No. Wait to you see the winters I am going to give them" I may be blessed but I sure am getting tired of the snow. So far almost a record. We got another foot today, and another foot coming on Saturday. Over 10 feet this winter so far. Saw the thread on Texas pride, think I might go down again and visit.

Come on down! 8) The Houston Rodeo is starting up and it was a breezy 74 degrees today. Great weather and plenty to do, heck, I'll buy you a rack of ribs if you make it.

Although, in August when it's 104 with 100% humidity, I just might turn North... just for a bit.

I always remember my Mom telling me about her sister when she moved to Canada in the Winter. Her hand got froze to the door handle when she got to her new home!

I hear there's some good fishing in Canada, despite the cold. Maybe I'll just have to drop in there on my way back from Texas

Horace there is great fishing up here, but not right now. If you like ice fishing that is another story, personally I cn't stand it. I can think of better things to do than freeze my but off trying to catch a fish. Trolling is a real pain also. If the weathervkeeps up I may make it down for the Houston rodeo. I have been to Dallas , Fortb Worth area in the summer, not all that different than here when it gets hot. I have seen 100 plus degrees and 90% humidity here. Hard to know which is worse. You can dress for cold. Thanks for the offer of ribs, stranger things have happened.

I own some property in Canada and really love the land and the people.
However, you can keep your politicians. When I bought the land, the government tried to encourage me to move to Manitoba because they are suffering a negative population growth (Their words, not mine).
They think it only has to do with the harsh winters. I told them the winters had little to do with it. I said that I would not make a good Canadian. I tend to be a non-conformist and they have just too many rules (guns laws for one).
I wish the bery best for our neighbors to the north.

I know the feeling Iceman, the pile in my backyard is taller than I am, and my street is down to one lane of mostly ice.
I was down to Memphis last month though, spring like weather, and weak beer.
darn, you US guys gotta get better beer.
The Jack on the rocks was good though.
More snow tomorrow night, and Saturday as well.
The really sad part, is that my agenda didn't give me time to visit even one gun shop.

Iceman, Forgive my boldness, but, if when God made Canada he had thought to do what our forefathers had done, and given you all the right to posess firearms in a manner that your government had not been able to TAKE THAT RIGHT AWAY, might your wonderful country be a better place today??? Just curious. thanks, Ed
Please understand, I have been to your great country and enjoyed it. This is simply a question which could help some of our residents decide their vote. thank you again.

Let's see: Record snowfall in Canada, record cold and ice and snow in China, record cold in the American heartland. What is going on? What do we call this?

Inconvenient Truth...that's what we call it.

So much for Al Gore and his global "warming" false prophecies.

"An important prediction available from the RC theory states that there will be a major drop in the sun's activity measured by an historic reduction in sunspots and other indicators of the sun's behavior. Accompaning this lower state of the sun called a 'solar minimum' by the solar physics community, will be a prolonged cold era according to the SSRC. This next climate change to many years of a slowly cooling Earth environment, is predicted by the SSRC to begin within the period 2010 to 2021 with lowest temperatures during the bottom around the year 2031. The SSRC refers to this dramatic change in climate as a 'solar hibernation' because of the depths of cold that are associated with it based upon many hundreds of years of repeating cycles with similar recorded cold eras, as discovered by the SSRC." I have read about the " minimum " did not bring it up here, but it is really something to give one pause about.
I fear our people are not prepared for such an event
