Hey Nath! Thats my bow, least it looks like mine, a Martin Jaguar 55-70#. I killed this with it last year. I'm in the market to upgrade because my oldest boy can draw it now, but I'm still trying to scrape up the pennies. Its a great bow!
Heres a better shot of the bow. Season starts the 15th here & I'm starting to put stands & blinds in now. Still a bit warm but I got that buck on Sept 19th last year.

Wow, uber
Looks very much the same however mine is called a Wildcat!
Due to my small frame (getting wider in the middle) I only draw 50#ish.
I would love to get one of the new PSE kits but this old bow keeps puttin' them there,,,,,may get a whisker biscuit. Have you ever tried one? Anyone?
When i bought my BowTech Liberty new it had a whisker biscut on it, the thing at the time.
I don`t like them, ate up fletchings until i figured out the nock height makes all the difference.
I went with a drop rest and love it, works great.
If ya need a picture of my set-up let me know and i`ll dig out my bow, probably should anyway.

Messed up on a real nice Muley buck today. Was within 10 yards and I was at full draw, but I took a step to the side slowly to get a clear lane and he busted me. Good thing there is still four months of season left.
I switched from a longbow to a compound several years ago due to not having enough time to stay proficient (according to my standards) and all I've ever had on it is a whisker bisket. No issues with mine whatsoever. My bow is a Darton. Draw weight is set at 50 pounds and I don't feel one bit under bowed even with the hogs we have here in Florida.

Life is a storm, my young friend. You will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes.
Let me put it this way about my comment on the whisker, if it`s tearing up your feathers the nock height is probable to high and it`s slamming the arrow down as it passes through.
If the bow is set up for a biscut they work great.

Never used a wisker biscuit but it seems a love it or hate it thing. I use feathers and think it might tear them up. Most of the guys I know that use them use tiny plastic vanes for fletching.
Not sure if you can see it but I use a NAP micro tune prong type rest. It works for me. If I buy my new setup from a pro shop they'll likely sell me a drop away which should be fine with feathers.
Here`s some pics of my BowTech Liberty and set-up.
The rest is a Trophy Ridge drop rest, i love the thing, works perfect.

Thanks fellers, excellent comments and photo's gents
I have ordered a biscuit to try, see, I don't sit still very often. I often stalk and anything that holds the arrow still is (I hope) a bonus. I understood it that feathers can be shot through them!!!! I stripped the larger feather and will try some old easton plasti fletch I have. We will see!
Nath, is the point on that arrow with the rabbit on of the flat point ones? It looks to me like it, but I am not sure. Now, it probably won't be long before we see more posts about bow hunting as the seasons start around here soon.

They are some I turned on a lathe from 3/8 square stock bar. Hot glued into the shaft.
All targets end with a square hole through them err it
Hey Nath, you must be pretty well loaded down when you go hunting, What with a gun to shoot the wabbit, a bow to use as a prop in the wabbit pic, a camera, etc, etc.
I heard a rumor last week that the dimwits here in Oz are again going to try and put a stop to bow hunting on the grounds that it is inhumane or whatever. The bow hunters association managed to head them off last time, lets hope they do so again.
I did a little bow hunting many years ago for a short time while I didn't have a rifle. Successfully managed to get a goat and one of those high jumping deer that we get over here. My bow was a compound Hoyt Gamegetter 65lb. These days with arthritic fingers, bursitis, and a buggered back I'd be lucky to pull 25lb on a good day, so my bow hunting days are over but I still think we should protect the sport.

Getting to 10yds on a deer is awsome .
Fun int' it
Keep up the good work

I found the biscuit to be a great hunting rest. I doubt you'll get the target grade accuracy of a good drop a way, but for my abilities the biscuit worked great. I'd switched to one after losing a P & Y class buck because my arrow fell off the rest while hunting in freezing conditions. Of course I may have still missed him if the arrow hadn't fell off, but I don't like to admit to ever missing

Expecting it tomorrow but duck/goose shooting tomorrow evening, watch this space
Biscuits work great as long as the nock height isn`t to high so they don`t tear up your fletchings.
I set mine 1/8th high, some dealers like to set them up in the 1/2 inch range which is to high, slams the arrow down and tears up the feathers.

Oh ya did not i never released the secret nock height before
When ya get that set right then set up a target and start at 20 yards using your 20 yard pin and shoot an arrow.
Then back up ten yards and shoot another arrow still using your 20 yard pin.
Keep doing that until ya get back to 30-40 yards and see if your arrows are in a straight line vertically.
If not adjust your whisker left or right to correct, there ya have it a good shootin bow and feathers that look good.

While I grew up using a recurve bow to horse around with, I recently got a used compound bow. I'm wondering about hunting Whitetails with it since recent technology improvements make scoring on a deer seem more probable. Which method of arrow release is more accurate when hunting: (1) the old-fashioned two-finger release or (2) one of the new mechanical release mechanisms? Is there clearly an advantage to one or the other in hunting?

I use to use fingers with an older compound but they were longer than most modern bows so a release aid is good as they tend to pinch fingers at full draw and make for poor release. I have done it but it did not work out to good.
