My trophies from the hunt in Africa will be sent to the shipping company soon. I will then have to pay the shipping company prior to shipping, but they are ready and will be here before too long. I will post pictures and the story after the trophies arrive. I have had to be quiet about the trip until PillHer cooled off about my being that far away from her. It has taken a year for her to cool off about the trip. Trophex, the taxidermist company, had a difficulty with an employee who had the email addresses for some clients, and she had to be let go. When she left, she took the email addresses and made it take longer than necessary for the trophies to be shipped. I don't know any more than that, but the owner, Bertus Steenkamp, has been a total gentleman about it. I am looking forward to seeing my zebra skin rug.

Thanks for the post. I too have trophies at Trophex. We hunted in late May/ early June. How long was the wait and who did you use for shipping? Bertus advised about a company that he always uses, but my email address may be one of the missing ones. Also, how much was the shipping?

Hello, I realize my comment may be old news. I want to offer fellow hunters a "heads up" warning about Trophex Taxidermy. We have had a bad experience with them. For example they substituted inferior horns on a beautiful Kudu ( we had pictures), hides were carelessly fleshed and had countless repair/stitches. I found them to respond with indifference until pressed it very hard and got the help of the outfitter. I'm trying to be helpful not destructive. Finding a good taxidermist in Africa can be more challenging sometimes than finding the trophy. It helps all of us when someone speaks up. brian
