Not very often, but sometimes I'll get a Winter Bottle. Three fingers and a water back.. only sparingly. I'll look that up. Hope they have it around here. Hope you had a wonderful birthday outing with your family :D

Now there ya go, i`d gave up on whiskey and bought a quart of Bacardi Rum my old drink from way back.
Didn`t care much for the JB black so now i suppose your telling me there is hope for whiskey.

I've heard a bottle can go for $500 on ebay, if some lunatic is thirsty enough  I paid £4.95 a shot, that's about $7.80..

I'll stick with Tullamore Dew or Bushmills when I want whiskey. I like the price, and the taste is very good.

I've only begun trying whiskies this last year. I don't care for most of them, but I've found a few I really like. I have a sample of Van Winkle here to try.

game keeper, you might look at MasterOfMalt.com, there in the UK. I recently got about 20 samples from them to try, including that Van Winkle. It sure beats buying a whole bottle when you want to try something not available at the local pubs/bars.

KWK, thanks for the heads up, I'm not a heavy drinker but I do like to try as many different Bourbons as I can (I don't drink Scotch), a sample bottle sounds like a less expensive and a more healthy way to go..

I have a drink once a week, so I'm not in the "heavy" category either. I prefer Scotch to bourbon for the most part, and I often put the ryes ahead of both.

One warning: The samples from Master of Malt are only 3 cl (or 1 oz), and I find this is barely enough to get my taste buds to settle in with a whiskey.
