Yeah, tornadoes are pretty rare here, I think the mountains and hills help by not letting the tornadoes to form. But we have been getting a lot of these "derecho" or strait line storms, and they do some serious damage.
I'm watching these move north towards me and looks like I will be out of power again seems the wind blows here and I lose power!!!
We had a cold front push through here (NE Oklahoma) last night with lots of baseball size hail and the turnpike gate a couple of miles from my house measured 84 MPH straight winds. Lotta roof damage and 4 fatalities. Grandma, Grandpa and 4 month old baby girl all killed in a mobile and a truck driver died when his rig was turned over by the wind. Lotsa lightening but no tornadoes.

I came across this link earlier today for a storm shelter company.
It seems like a simple solution, and trustworthy. I haven't used them,
just passing it along in case it's useful to anyone.
Lucked out---actually the winds didn't get no worse than the gusts when I typed the origin of this post.(then power dropped about 10mins after sirens started)
It rain buckets for about 1hr and the power came back on for about 15mins then went back out(but, no 110mph stuff like the last one)some weeks back.
How bout you other guys???
Thanks guys and hope everyone made out OK.(Stay safe wherever ya be)

Good to hear you are well!
I lost power about 2 mins after the rain and wind started, they got it back on late last night.
I haven't heard of any major damage anywhere yet, but I see the city got 2 tornadoes.
Man! That ain't fair! You guys from around the country really get in on the action...........tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, floods, huge forest fires. We don't get nothing like that here in S.E. Pa., maybe a rumble or two from the inner parts of Philly once in a while....bang bang............bring the meat wagon. ----------Sixgun
