My wife was going through some boxes of hand-me-downs and found this old postcard.

It says, "12/10 This was the second day of season in Clearfield Co., Jack"

I don't see the Savages.

Looks like several 94 rifles, a couple 95's, a pump shotgun, an auto, a double, the Lightning, and the gent sitting in the middle looks to have a 73 rifle. Couple of the Winchesters aren't easily visible, no way to tell for sure wether 92's or 94's unless you measuted the length of the recievers compared to the buttstock perhaps. The guy between the deer may have a 92, the barrel looks a little shorter than the 94 next to him. Could be a 24" barrel 94 though.

Pitchy you got some good eyes....I saw 2 revolvers and went back to find the other.....guess it is the younger looking fella next to the Browning, Remington or FN auto shotgun....

I think there's a forth pistol. I thought the guy with the X over his head also had a pistol as well as the butt on his rifle in his left hand.
Just what do you think they do with those little 32's or 38's?

I don`t see that one Owen, i think that`s just the wood of the stock.
I wonder if they carry them for finish shots, that or just showing off their wares.

I agree with Malamute on that possible Winchester Model 1873. The front of the receiver looks like a '73/'76 shape, but it doesn't look big enough to be a '76. What I really like about this old photo is to see just how popular leverguns were at that time and place.

I remember my dad telling me that if you hunted in Ohio back before WWII, that would have been a very successful hunting party.
