New family member!

Post by TedH »

Say hello to Achilles, our new 8 week old German Shepard. We got him for my Fiance's son, who has been wanting a Shepard for a long time. He's been pretty good in the week and a half that we have had him, most of the night time crying has stopped and he seems to be very attached to the boy already, though he's pushing his luck trying to play with our 9 year old Dachshund who has no interest in playing with this new invader yet!

Good looking pup!

If you've had a Shepard before, you don't need to be told, but if you've not had one, they are incredibly smart dogs.

They learn fast and are intensely curious. It's sometimes comical, and sometimes it's an exercise in patience.

Train him up right!

Some things never get boring and dogs are one of 'em! He's cool Ted. :D

Yep on the old dog/new dog syndrome. Been dealing with it my whole life. Some older dogs accept the new guy like he's one of their own and others fight 'em. But one thing I have noticed is that the older dogs will almost never hurt a puppy/very young dog. They usually just act indifferent to them.------------Sixgun
