What a week----------some more prayers needed

Post by madman4570 »

Cousin on his way home from work heading up the quiet country road on his motorcycle only a mile from his house and a deer came out of a corn field and the timing was such that the deer hit my cousin broadside instantly. Didn't have a split second to do anything, not even flinch. He was doing about 40-45mph in a 45mph zone.

He is in hospital with broken tibia in 2 places/broken wrist/internal injuries/missing several fingers on right hand(is or was right handed)bad lacerations throughout.Bike totaled.

Any prayers for him/family much appreciated!

Prayers up (and thanks up that it wasn't worse); deer impacts are bad, even in automobiles.

A deer frightened by traffic on the other side of a divided highway bolted into the side of my wife's car that was stopped at a stoplight, and caved-in the driver's side door severely enough to even dent in the inside of the door. The car was a 1970's Cougar, built like a tank, with about the heaviest steel in the body I've ever seen. I was amazed at the force and damage.

(Even though the accident was clearly not her fault and happened almost a hundred miles from home, the insurance company paid the claim, then canceled us as they 'realized' we lived in a high-risk deer area  - of course they turned around and offered us a different plan at a higher rate. We declined their generous offer, but right before our policy was canceled, an uninsured motorist hit my truck and our kind and generous insurer had to most likely eat that cost, as the dude had no money and no job...)

When the deer hit me, fortunately I was in a car. It totaled the car and the deer, but I came out alright.

Prayers for heeling on the way.

Prayers sent.
I hit a deer last year when I was doing 70mph, £2,000 worth of damage but no injuries to me, the deer was mincemeat.
