OT: Drivewear Lenses
For those of you who wear prescription eyewear, have any of you tried the new Drivewear polarized lenses from Transitions and what is your opinion?

I haven't had a pair, but I've seen quite a few of them come through the lab.
The color is very similar to Melanin lenses which were developed by analyzing how birds of prey see. And they see very well. The color will work like yellow lenses which are great for shooting.
Polarizing won't do much unless you are dealing with reflective surfaces like water, but they also lighten and darken which will be nice if you use them outside throughout the day.
Go for it, but if you're going to shoot with them make sure they are polycarbonate and ask that they be ground at least 2.0 mm thick (I prefer 3.0 mm) .

if you get them in the rimless Silhouette frame, they won't be any good for eye protection. The frames will flex if hit and won't stop anything.
Also the Ray Ban Shooters were made of glass, they can easily shatter. They should be ok for protection against powder but they can't really be trusted.
Some sort of tough wrap-around frame with thick polycarbonate lenses would be the best for eye protection.
