What i found irritating about driving in TX is their road signs, they put them right at the intersection. If your in the wrong lane with a 31 foot motorhome your out of luck and will miss your turn.

Actually it is the law in Texas to drive with a .12 blood alcohol level, any less and you get cited

And it makes it easier to understand why we pass on the shoulder of the road. Besides, it makes for a heavier foot. Remember, the speed signs on the side of the road are the minimum speed you must go or you will be run over.

That must be the "medicinal" blood level that my Grandmother always advocated and practiced. Rest her soul!

make sure your tires are in good shape and your cold pressures correct.
Early summer blowouts are always a rash on hot TX highways.

Until I was 30, it was legal to drink a beer while you drove in TX - no more distracting than drinking coffee. Most stoplight races ended at the next "ice house" with the loser buying the beer.

Griff don't drive around Fort Worth, go to the Historical Stockyards and have a cold one or two at the White Elephant Saloon. Stay at the Stockyards Hotel across the street and get up and go the next morning. :D RR7

The Texas Highway Department has very detailed Texas road maps that are free for the asking. My wife makes me drive in the correct lane for a turn a good 100 miles from the turn.
