Simply riveting to watch the heroes of the greatest generation . Watching some of them I get something in my eye.

Great photos. We (or I) forget sometimes life was not lived in b&w in those days! +1 such respect for Rosie and her fellow riveters.

My Mom was a "Rosie the Riveter"
She built gun turrets for B-17's.

It's sort of a fluke that there is WWII color footage... It's because there was a B&W film shortage... 16mm color film was available & the rest is history...

I thought this was going to be about the DVD series with black and white footage colorized. Most of the footage I've seen both ways, and the colorizing is pretty good.

The only thing I don't like is when they show explosions, they don't bother to colorize the smoke, figuring it's gray anyway. It is, but it would be a different gray in color and it doesn't quite match.
