Hi fellas,
I was thinking of using the Cast Performance 200 gr WLNGC in .357 for deer out of my Handi Rifle and Ruger BH. Anyone have experience with these? Do you think they're to heavy to be driven at .357 mag velocities?

I don't have experience with that particular bullet, BUT, you should call Cast Performance and ask the young lady who answers the phone if you could ask Mike a couple of questions on loading for it. Mike is incredibly knowledgeable and very helpful. I have asked him questions a couple of times and got answers which really helped.

Ive got some but prefer the 180's for pistols pushed with Lil'gun my load is above the max load of 15 grains in the load books but I get 1300 fps in a 3" gp100 same as Buffalo Bore 180's clock. 200's should fly fast in a rifle or long bbl pistol. danny

I've tried them, but got much better accuracy in a Win 94 and a couple of Rossis with the 180's at 357 mag lengths with Lil'Gun.
Kind regards,
Tycer

+1 Bigsky & Tycer.
180s seem to hit the .357 "sweet spot". Not enough advantage in the extra 20gr to justify accuracy/velocity differences.

re-bore your 30-30 to 357-30 and use those.

Re: Cast Performance .357 200 grain
I have not used the CP 200's, but I have loaded a great many Beartooth .359 200gr WFNGC for a Marlin 94. While they don't make the numbers a 180 will, they still weigh 20gr more when they hit the meat, which is where it counts shooting cast. I had absolutely no accuracy issues with the .359 GC bullets compared to 180's, in fact the Beartooth bullets were a bit more accurate then the CP 180's I tried.
